Toolbar buttons
What each builder button does, including save, undo, preview, clear page, and the two buttons you can ignore.
- Desktop, tablet, and mobile. Edit in desktop view. The other two show how the page will look. You cannot edit on a phone.
- File library. Pictures and videos live here. Leave them in the library so the page can show them.
- Page menu and Manage Pages. Pick a page, or add, rename, and remove pages. The file-cabinet icon opens the same list.
- Border guides. Lines around boxes while you edit. Viewers do not see them. Leave them on while you work.
- Preview. The eye opens the site in a new tab. Close that tab to come back. You are not editing in the preview.
- Full screen. Press Escape to leave it.
- Export code. A zip of the HTML and CSS for the current page, or a copy of those columns. You do not need this to build the site.
- Undo and redo. Step backward or forward.
- Import code. Bring in HTML. Add it before you build the page. JavaScript is removed and will not run.
- Clear page. Erases the current page after a warning. It does not delete the website. Undo brings the page back.
- Help. Getting Started and About, with NHD guides and videos. About includes Contact. The yellow Clean CSS button on About can repair style trouble on the current page. Uncheck Show on Start if you do not want the prompt every time.
- Save. Click the blue Save button often. Green Saved means it worked. Nothing saves by itself.
- Palette. Opens the Site Theme Manager for a look you reuse on every page.
- Block styling. Font, alignment, and formatting for the block you selected.
- Blocks. The pieces you drag onto the page.
- Gear and Layers. The guide says both do nothing. Ignore them.
